Aaron and Sarah Beecher
Directors of Tariro Vocational School
Aaron and Sarah, with their children Joseph, Callum and Tabita have been serving in central Mozambique since 1998. They established Tariro, a faith-based training center which provides free high-quality courses for young adults in metalworking, carpentry, motor mechanics and agriculture. There are twenty full-time staff, most of whom originally trained at Tariro and are now key staff members. They are passing their skills on to the next generation. After completing the two-year training their graduates are assisted with gaining employment in local industries.
‘Tariro’ means ‘Hope’ in the local Chitewe language. Over the years they have seen many gain purpose and hope as they learn practical employable skills and come to comprehend the father-heart of God. The Beechers are privileged to see their students realize that God has a plan and purpose for each of their lives. Through ongoing discipleship they encourage them to find a vibrant relationship with Christ for themselves.
